In order to fly a Paraglider legally and safely anywhere in the world - you have to have a licence.
The West Australian Paragliding Academy conducts licenced courses all year round at a variety of locations around Western Australia. The most common places are: York, Toodyay, Serpentine, Albany and Geraldton.
Jiri is a fully certified instructor and together with Sylvie is running one of Australia's most established paragliding schools.
Since 1988, many students have learnt the joy of paragliding.
Restricted Course;
It takes a minimum of 10 days to complete all the requirements for you to become a restricted pilot. In the end you'll get a Pilot License. This first license entitles you to fly in the company of an experienced pilot.
Course cost: $2200.
Introduction Course;
During this course you can have a taste of what paragliding is all about. This course is really a sample weekend and no license will be issued.
Course cost: $500.
Towing Endorsement;
Very popular way of flying cross-country in WA. A must for anybody who lives in a flat area.
Course cost: $400.
Motorised Endorsement;
Motorised endorsement is suitable for pilots with more then 10 hours of flying experience. Motorised paraglider will give you more freedom to fly.
Course cost: $500.
Skill Improvement;
For pilots who want to improve quickly and move up to a different level (thermalling, ridge soaring, top landing, recovery techniques and B-line stall).

Refresher Course;
For those pilots who haven't flown for a while to get the cobwebs out of their skills.
Course cost: $100 per day.
